8/12/16-Sealing of the Aura Ritual

8/12/16- Hermanubis Golden Dawn Temple - Frater III, Frater AUA, Soror AK, and Frater Peacock participated in a Sealing of the Aura ritual. Temple space was opened and closed by Sceptre-utilizing the energy of the 12 pointed crowned Hierophant's Wand.

Pat in Commentaries states-no longer than 20' in length, pg 79- In some temples, this Sceptre had a crown of ten points, each representing a Sephirah. However, the rays they emitted were not considered balanced enough, and though powerful, it was found by clairvoyant members that they were somewhat erratic. It sometimes took a great deal of effort for the Hierophant to control them. By using a 12-pointed mitre, a definite change was felt and the power of the Sceptre was definitely increased to a higher and more directional level. Brodie-Innes wrote a letter to Felkin, about the imbalance of the ten-pointed sceptre, in 1896, though no solution was offered. Taylor and others at Whare Ra, made similar comments. After a great deal of experimentation by Thoth-Hermes members, a 12-pointed mitre-head was found to be ideal"...

Herbs/Stones in the tails of our Nemyss - Hermanubis Golden Dawn Temple

Here are some pics of the work the Hermanubis Temple did on their nemyss. In Secrets of a Golden Dawn Temple, by the Ciceros, it states that the nemyss is 'Ankh' shaped-'the ankh-cross is a sacred symbol which alludes to the manifestation of the Divine Life force...to wear an ankh in the form of a headdress signifies the striving for Eternal Life...the initiate encountered all varities of actual and visualized dangers, holding above the head the Crux Ansata, before which the dark powers fled. In Hebrew tradition, the back of the head (Qoph) is covered so that symbolically no impure or unbalanced energies or thought may 'slip in'. By covering one's head with the sacred emblem of the Ankh, the Golden Dawn Magician puts him or herself in a magickal state of mind, and calls upon the Forces of Eternal Life and Light. But in addition to this, the initiate is covering the Supernal Sephiroth in his/her Sphere of Sensation for power and protection from all outside influences".

In some GD Temples-Adepts would place 'items' in the tails of their Nemyss...an example is Percy Wilkinson's Nemyss-in the possession of Nick Farrell-Percy was one of the head Adepts of the GD order of the Whare Ra temple in New Zealand...He placed a 'talisman' in the tail of his nemyss for ritual purposes and for practical purposes as well-to weight down the tail itself. This is the basis for the idea for our own herbs/stones in the tails of our nemyss. 

In continuing with the spiritual principle-the Hermanubis Temple decided to stuff the tail with herbs and stones- that were associated with the 7 chakras. Beginning at the base of the tail-we place a small amount to natural cotton. Then we followed up with herb/stone...

• Root Chakra- Herb-Wild Lettuce/Stone-Garnet.
• Sacral Chakra- Herb-Wormwood/Stone-Carnelian
• Solar Plexus Chakra-Herb-Yarrow/Stone-Citrine.
• Heart Chakra-Herb-Lemon Balm/Stone-Rose Quartz
• Throat Chakra-Herb-Thyme/Stone-Turquoise.
• 3rd Eye Chakra-Herb-Rue/Stone-Lapis Lazuli.
• Crown Chakra-Herb-Lavender/Stone-Amethyst.

Not only did this fill the tails nicely (averaging about 14.5 grams of each herb) the Nemyss also smell delightful! Although I know this is NOT standard practice among G.D. Traditions-we thought this was a nice touch-and feel more secure with the assistance of the natural powers/abilities of the Herb/Stones utilized in the process..

History of the Hermanubis Golden Dawn Temple

(2009-present)

The Original Temple was the Hermanubis Maat Temple of the Golden Dawn-established on October 23, 2009. The first Neophyte 0=0 Initiation Rituals were held on January 30th, 2010. These were led by Frater DATz 3=8 with permission from his Mother Temple and their VH Hierophantissa OZ.

On July 16, 2010-the Hermanubis Maat Temple of the Golden Dawn officially disbanded and formed two separate temples. The Hermanubis Golden Dawn Temple was established.

The first Initiations of the Temple took place in August 8th 2011-the Zelator 1=10 degree EARTH Grade. The Initiates included Frater III, Frater AUA , and Soror A.K..

The second Initiations of the Hermanubis Golden Dawn Temple were held on February 10 2012. These were the Theoricus 2=9 degree AIR Grade. The Initiates included Frater III, Frater AUA , and Soror A.K..

Hermanubis Golden Dawn Temple Initiated Frater Aquilex into the Neophyte in 2013, the Zelator 1=10 degree EARTH Grade on March 30, 2014, and the Theoricus 2=9 degree AIR Grade on April 6, 2014.

On December 21 2014 a Severing ritual was performed cutting ALL ties to previous incarnations of the temple, its work, and its former members in association with the Hermanubis G.D. Temple.

The third Initiations of the Hermanubis G.D. Temple were held on January 10, 2015. These were the Practicus 3=8 degree WATER Grade. The Initiates included Frater III, Frater AUA,
